He has produced SW with dark eyes from SW with blue in eyes, SDF from SDF, appaloosa from appaloosa, SLF from SMF and appaloosa/fancy from appaloosa/fancy. September 2013 UPDATE : Faux's beautiful 2nd (2011) fleece has been awarded PREMIER FANCY FLEECE at the International Fleece Show in NZ. It scored a huge 79.5 points and was clear winner, being 2.5 points ahead of the fleece from the 2012 AAA National Show Fancy winner. This fleece has been shown 3 times and taken Supreme Fancy Fleece each time and with very high scores. It is an excellent all-round fleece with fineness, style and weight. Go Faux !! March 2013 UPDATE :Faux's 2011 fleece was shown at the recent Creswick Fleece Show and took out the Champion Fancy Fleece with a superb score of 84points (incl nil for colour) That fleece earns 15/15 for weight and has excellent style and fineness, along with lustre and low medulation - all in all, a good fleece whatever the colour. November 2012 UPDATE : Faux's 2011 fleece has won the inaugural Fancy Fleece section at the AAA National Show held in Adelaide this year. Faux won his 18-30 months age group and then took out Champion Fancy Fleece from a competitive field of entries. SPRING 2012 UPDATE : Faux's full brother, the unusually-coloured varnish roan, Arcady Le Cadeau, has been sold to stud in New Zealand and will be at Waiheke Alpacas. MARCH 2012 UPDATE : Faux started his 2012 year with success at Mt Pleasant Show in March, winning the Adult Fancy section (ahead of Ambersun Jag) and then being awarded BEST FANCY, ahead of our Intermediate male, Appaloosa Archipelago. Faux's 3rd fleece continues to exhibit the same excellent style and fineness as his previous fleeces. The only problem we will again meet with Faux's fleece and showing him, is the length he produces, which will mean he will be overfleeced by the Spring shows. Faux was certified for breeding in Dec 2011. He is well-developed. Our vet's comment was that his testes were as good as a mature male's right NOW. Most of our males here are fertile/working before they are 2YO. Faux has exceptionally stylish fleece and his 2nd fleece test (2011) was very pleasing. A large midside sample, tested at NEFT P/L by OFDA 100, returned a result of 20.6u and the super SD of only 3.8u. Comfort factor was 98.3%. Faux's pictures taken just before shearing in October 2011, shows the incredible length of fibre he is producing, not just on his body, but on his neck. His neck fibre is so stylish and long that we have been able to class it almost entirely in with the saddle fleece - now THAT is something to aim for isn't it ?! NB he lost most of his lower leg fleece in the long wet season as we had very long pasture. He actually has excellent point coverage. Faux had a very successful maiden show year in 2011. He was undefeated in his age group classes and also took out Best Fancy at 2 shows. Judges have always commented on his highly structured fleece and its uniformity.
